“War Room” is ready for detect traffic violations in Kerala. As a part of safe kerala project the control room of 44 AI cameras installed in the district by the department of motor vehicles. The captured camera footage first will reach the central control room in Thiruvanthapuram and from here it will transfered into the other districts. The footage will be scrutinized in the district control room and notice will be send to the vehicle owners. The AI camera will see everything that are happen while driving the vehicle. There are fines for overspeed, driving without seatbelt, mobile phone using while driving, driving without helmet , illegal parking etc.
But even if you put your hand close to ear like you are talking on your mobile phone while driving, you will be fined. In these situations, the control room will checked in detail in the control room. After only they fine if you have mobile phone in your hand. The AI camera will capture driving with more than two persons in two wheeler. There are instructions to catch those people who cross the yellow line on the road and also who cross the lines on curves and overtake vehicles. Beaware of those who have made traffic violations as hobby. If the fine is not paid five times, the next time your vehice will be impounded. However it is not a strict rule. All the online transactions related to the vehicle will be banned if the vehicle fine is not paid.
The Kerala Motor Vehicle Department has indeed introduced AI-powered cameras to catch traffic violators and issue fines automatically. As mentioned earlier, the cameras use computer vision algorithms to detect traffic violations such as speeding, red light running, and improper lane usage. The system is designed to improve road safety and reduce human error in issuing fines. The AI-powered cameras can capture images and videos of traffic violations, analyze the data to identify the license plate number of the offending vehicle, and issue a fine automatically. This makes the process of issuing fines faster and more efficient, as there is no need for human intervention in the process. However, the implementation of the AI camera system has also raised concerns about privacy and accuracy. Some people have questioned the accuracy of the system, particularly in identifying the correct vehicle and driver responsible for the violation. There are also concerns about the potential for misuse of the technology, such as using it for surveillance purposes.
